Udyam registration, classified correctly.

The MSME certificate that banks, tender portals and government schemes ask for. It is free to file and easy to file wrongly, and a wrong classification is the reason most certificates are questioned later.

₹199 professional fee

No government fee on this registration

Who needs it

Micro, small and medium enterprises, whether manufacturing or services, that want the Udyam certificate for bank credit, subsidy schemes, tender eligibility or the protection of the delayed-payment provisions.

Udyam registration carries no government fee. Our fee is for classifying the activity correctly and filing it. A wrong NIC code or a mis-stated investment figure is the usual reason a certificate is later disputed.

What we need from you

  • Aadhaar of the proprietor, managing partner or authorised director
  • PAN of the business
  • GSTIN, where the business is registered for GST
  • Investment and turnover figures, and the NIC activity codes that fit what you actually do

In detail

MSME / Udyam registration

What the certificate is for

Udyam is the government’s register of micro, small and medium enterprises, and the certificate is what proves you are on it. Banks ask for it before lending under priority sector norms and under the collateral-free credit guarantee scheme. Tender portals ask for it where a tender is reserved for MSEs or carries a relaxation on turnover and prior experience. Several state and central subsidy schemes ask for it as the first document. And it is what lets you invoke the delayed payment provisions, under which a buyer who holds your money past the statutory period owes interest on it.

Which band you fall into

Micro, small and medium are defined by two numbers together: investment in plant, machinery or equipment, and annual turnover. The limits have been revised upwards over time, most recently with effect from the 2025–26 financial year, so a business that was small under the old limits may sit differently now. Give us your figures and we will tell you which band you are in before anything is filed, rather than file first and explain afterwards.

The NIC code is the part people get wrong

Udyam requires you to declare your activity against National Industrial Classification codes, and the classification follows you. A trading business filed under a manufacturing code, or a consultancy filed under whatever code looked closest, is exactly the kind of mismatch that surfaces later when a bank or a tender authority compares the certificate against your GST returns. We pick the codes against what the business actually does, list them all where you do more than one thing, and tell you which is the primary.

It is linked to your PAN and GST

Udyam draws investment and turnover data from your PAN and GST records rather than taking your word for it, and the classification updates automatically as those figures move. That is a good reason to have the figures right at the time of filing, and a good reason not to enter numbers that your returns will contradict.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is there a government fee for Udyam registration?

None. Udyam registration is free on the government portal, and any site charging you a government fee for it is charging you for something that does not exist. Our ₹199 is a professional fee for classifying the business correctly and filing it, and you are perfectly entitled to file it yourself instead.

How long does it take?

Udyam is generally issued immediately once the application is submitted with a valid Aadhaar and PAN, and the certificate can usually be downloaded the same day. The work that takes time is what comes before: getting the classification, the activity codes and the figures right.

We already have a Udyog Aadhaar or an old MSME certificate. Is that enough?

No. The older Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum registrations have been superseded by Udyam, and the old numbers are no longer treated as valid MSME proof. If you are still carrying one, you need a fresh Udyam registration. Send us the old certificate and we will file the new one.

Can a trader register under Udyam?

Retail and wholesale traders are included for the limited purpose of priority sector lending, which is not the same as the full set of MSME benefits. It is worth knowing which of the two you are getting before you register, and we will tell you plainly where your business sits.

What if our turnover grows past the limit?

The classification moves with your PAN and GST data, so the certificate reclassifies itself as the figures change rather than becoming invalid. There is a transition period before a change in band takes effect on benefits. Nothing needs re-filing on your side.
